 Mission Statement

How CCC came to be

How CCC came to be

Caring for Caribbean Communities was birthed out of “The Beach Project”.

In 2007, “The Beach Project” began with a group of 10 from Grande Prairie going to Cojimar, Cuba to clean the beach. Since the beginning, we have developed relationships with members of the community and local churches. During this time we have seen God’s hand in this project as we saw miracle after miracle. It is amazing how God instilled a love of this  country within us.

In 2014 the Caring for Caribbean Communities project, with a local community group, was developed from “The Beach Project”. The focus was on building a fence around the property (which has been completed), developing curriculum for Environmental and Nutritional Science, doing children’s activities in partnership with this local group and building a community center.

The heart of this project is to build relationships with the Cuban people and show God’s love through our words and actions.

In the midst of all that, Eddie’s church has taken on the responsibility of cleaning the beach.

Bottles & Fundraising

We have been collecting bottles every month and the money is sent to Cuba to buy food for our families. We continue to collect bottles every month for the same purpose.

The heart of these projects is to build relationships with the Cuban people and show God’s love through our words and actions.

Top Three Highlights of 2025

Animal Husbandry and The Garden Project

One of the most significant milestones this year was the launch of the chicken project. What made this achievement especially remarkable was how quickly it came together. Within just one month, the project was fully up and running—a testament to good planning, strong teamwork, and the
commitment of those involved on the ground. The success of this project has laid a solid foundation for future sustainability and food security.

The garden project, started in 2024, has also been extremely successful. Throughout the year, church members received a wide variety of fresh vegetables, helping to meet real needs within the community. The garden has not only provided nourishment but has also become a visible sign of growth, consistency, and shared effort.

The pig project continues to grow steadily and shows great promise. While still developing, it represents an important step toward long-term sustainability and income generation for the community.

Feeding People, Following Jesus

At the heart of all these projects is a simple but powerful truth: Jesus fed the people—and we are called to do the same. This year, through the garden and animal projects, people have been fed in practical, tangible ways. These efforts reflect God’s love in action, meeting both physical and spiritual needs.

An important lesson learned this year has been the need to proceed at a pace that our Cuban partners can manage and sustain. True partnership means listening, adapting, and moving forward together with wisdom and patience.

Looking Ahead

As we plan for the future, we are seeking wisdom and prayerful guidance in several key areas:

  • The possible purchase of land
  • Hiring and supporting local staff
  • Maintaining clear and effective communication between leaders
  • Continued success and growth of the pig and chicken projects
  • Ongoing  expansion of the garden

Our prayer is that all animal husbandry and farm projects will continue to develop into fully sustainable initiatives that bless the community for years to come.

A Year to Give Thanks

Above all, we give thanks that people are being fed, lives are being supported, and hope is growing. This year stands as a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when faith, cooperation, and practical action come together. We move forward with gratitude for what God has already done and trust for what He will continue to do.
